TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida Health Care Association, representing nearly 700 nursing homes and assisted living facilities across Florida, issued the following statement regarding assisted living facility vaccine distribution.

“FHCA commends Governor DeSantis and Division of Emergency Management Director Moskowitz for amplifying the vaccination process for our long term care residents. Contracting with CDR Health to supplement the efforts of Walgreens and CVS will expedite vaccine clinics in Florida’s assisted living facilities and is a significant step forward in this monumental effort to save lives. Our seniors who live in assisted living facilities and the staff who care for them will now have greater access to getting the vaccine, as these clinics are set to begin as early as next week.”

“Our long term care residents and the healthcare heroes who care for them have undergone tremendous challenges during the pandemic. Vaccine distribution represents hope and joy for this particular population and brings long term care providers one step closer to defeating the virus.”
