FHCA’s Preceptor Provider Training prepares nursing home administrators to serve as Preceptors for students in the Administrator-In-Training (AIT) Program or College-Based Internship required for individuals who plan to become licensed nursing home administrators. FHCA’s preceptor training meets the requirements of the Board of Nursing Home Administrators as set forth in Rule 64B10-16.0025, F.A.C. It delivers 6 contact hours of continuing education and focuses on the preceptor and AIT program and regulatory requirements, expectations and needs, domains of practice, mentorship and developing the facility training program. *Any nursing home administrator who acts as a Preceptor will be granted 10 hours of continuing education credit for that biennium.
Led by FHCA Sr. Director of Quality Affairs and licensed NHA/former Preceptor Deborah Franklin, FHCA’s Preceptor Provider Training features leaders in the profession and Board of NHA members walking attendees through the domains of practice. This online training program will be delivered over five sessions – two 1.5- hour live sessions and three, 1-hour pre-recorded sessions delivered on-demand. This online course has a maximum of 50 participants.
Online Preceptor Provider Training: How It Works
- Earn 6 CEUs: Delivered over five sessions – two live, 1.5 hour online sessions and three, one-hour on-demand sessions
- Live Online Training Dates: December 1 at 3:00 p.m. EST (Opening Session) and December 16 at 3:00 p.m. EST (Closing Session)
- On-demand Sessions: Available between 4:30 p.m. EST December 1 – December 16, 2020
- Certification: Participants must attend all live sessions at the time they are presented and take the course evaluation after completing the program to earn the Preceptor certification. Live sessions cannot be made up at a later date.
- Continuing Education: All sessions must be completed by 4:30 p.m. EST on December 16 to receive continuing education credits and achieve Preceptor status
