The Healthcare Facility Patient Evacuation Planning and Preparedness virtual healthcare topic imparts knowledge and lessons learned in the planning and execution of evacuating a healthcare facility in preparation for, during, or after a disaster or emergency to class participants. Students review essential components of an evacuation plan from conducting a hazard vulnerability assessment through recovery and repatriation of the facility with real world examples. Students leave the course with the knowledge to evaluate and revise their facility's evacuation plan.

This course addresses pediatric emergency planning and medical response considerations through a combination of lectures, small group exercises, and a table-top exercise.
